HTC has released a DIY installable “Ice Cream Sandwich” update for the rather old HTC Desire S, taking the elderly (in phone years) model up to the hot new Android 4.0 release. No mention is made of what version of HTC’s Sense interface is included in the update.
The file’s an enormous 404MB download and is available through HTC’s Developer Centre here, plus the installer is for your relatively generic WWE edition of the OS so should be installable on most Desire S models regardless of network.
Do it at your own risk etc etc. Don’t come back here leaving angry comments if your browser’s suddenly all in German and your text messages are sorted in reverse order afterwards. We’re just the messenger.

/ September 1, 2012Hmm, yes, HTC’s obviously not keen on direct linking to 400MB files.
