Orange Samsung Galaxy S II ICS update due in April

Those of you who bought your Galaxy S II though the Orange network are going to be waiting for a good few weeks longer for your Android 4.0 update, with Orange claiming its upgrade for Samsung’s superphone won’t be arriving until “April” at the earliest.

The rather vague date will be a disappointment for Orange-connected Galaxy S II owners, especially as those who get their minutes and texts through Three received the OS update last week.

But at least it’s only a month or so delay. That’s actually pretty good for Orange, compared with some previously disastrous OS turnarounds by the network that have lagged others by much, much longer periods.

  1. Surprisingly quick considering how long I waited to get from 1.5 to 2.1 on my Hero with Orange.

Can’t make my mind up whether I should just get the SII ICS that’s up on XDA forums and be rid of all the foul Orange bloatware…

From the Finnish point of view: the phone looks black instead of orange to me.

I always want to make that joke. Similar thing when I write about “Three users”.
