Advent Vega Tegra Note 7 — “World’s fastest” 7-inch tablet launching November 15th

The Advent Vega is back! Currys and PC World are about to launch the Advent Vega Tegra Note 7 here in the UK, a 7-inch tablet running on Nvidia’s Tegra 4 platform. It arrives with something known as the Nvidia DirectStylus — a stylus — and a quad-core chipset that Nvidia claims makes this the “world’s fastest” 7-inch tablet.

Here’s a look at it. It’s the Tegra Note with an Advent Vega logo on it, basically:

Currys & PC World say they’ll begin taking orders for the Tegra Note on November 7th, ahead of a full launch on November 15th. The price is £179.99, so it had better be decent. Here’s the thing:

UPDATE:
The listing for the Vega Tegra Note is now live on PC World, where the tech specs confirm it’s a slightly disappointing 1280 x 800 resolution device, with just the 1GB of RAM. Not quite as revolutionary a product as the original and mighty Advent Vega.

The US Tegra Note 7 is 1280 x 800 with just the 1GB of RAM. Doubt this is any different, although you never know.

If thats the case then spend the extra £20 and buy a nexus, latest version of android, will actually see updates (i had the original advent vega which shipped with froyo, and even though they promised several times they would upgrade it to honeycomb, they never did) and have a much better screen and twice the ram.

  2. Better than the Google Nexus 7, get the Kindle Fire HDX, it is more powerful and same price.
