Kazam Thunder and Trooper — two budget phones launching soon

New mobile startup Kazam has announced a range of Android phones it’ll soon be launching in the UK market, in the form of the Kazam Trooper and Kazam Thunder. The Thunder is the most exciting of the forthcoming smartphones, offering a 4.5-inch display outputting at 480 x 854 resolution, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and with 1GB of RAM.

The Thunder also comes with dual cameras (8MP and 2MP), Android 4.2 is its launch OS and it looks like this:

That’s the Thunder. Here’s the Trooper:

The Trooper’s the cheaper choice, coming in FIVE screen size options from 3.5-inch all the way up to 5.5-inch. The different size Troopers all look a bit different from each other, so we suspect this is a well organised rebadging campaign. But still. More cheap phones can’t be a bad thing.

Read more over at Kazam. No prices are available as yet. We’re fantasising about sub-£100 for the lot of them.

They offer “free crack screen replacement for a year” – interesting.

They should be launching with 4.3 or 4.4

I’m moderately excited. Someone’s got to launch a proper budget phone that’s not hampered by 512MB of RAM, so if that big one’s cheap it might be a worthwhile thing.
