Archos has announced plans to launch three of the new Android phones that were rumoured earlier this week, all of which will offer an unskinned version of Android 4.1 as their OS. The three models are the Archos 35 Carbon (£79.99), the Archos 50 Platinum (£179.99) and Archos 53 Platinum (£199.99), offering screen sizes you should well be able to infer from their model numbers.
Archos claims the £199 53 Platinum “will have an experience similar to a Samsung Galaxy S3 for half the price” thanks to its Qualcomm 8225Q quad-core chipset. But there’s only 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage space inside it, plus the 960 x 540 resolution display won’t be as crisp. But still. Cheap in comparison. Here’s the trio:
Tech specs for all of the new Archos Android phones are available over on the Archos web site.
UPDATE:
Archos has amended the entry-level model’s price to £79.99 since issuing yesterday’s release.
