Swype was one of the first alternative Android keyboards to make a splash and has been offering line-drawing gesture text input for years — but only through pre-loaded deals with manufacturers and via a self-installable beta release. That’s changed. That’s changed RIGHT NOW, as Swype is live on Google Play today for you to buy and install, in return for 65p.
For the approximate price of a Cadbury’s Double Decker, you get a seriously slick line-drawing keyboard, which has been tested and refined by users for several years. Like its rival SwiftKey, Swype claims to learn your typing style and make adjustments depending on how you tend to type, plus you get a choice of themes to jazz it up a little.
Bizarre that it took them so long to bash it out through the official channel. Does this mean its original business plan was a success or a failure? We have no idea. Get yourself a copy here.

/ April 25, 2013I did love this back in the day, but since i got my Nexus 4, i just use the stock android keyboard that copied the swype function.

/ April 25, 2013Yeah, me too. Makes switching devices so much easier if you stick to the stock options as well.
