Kindle Fire HD 8.9" now on sale at Amazon UK

After testing the water here with the refreshed Kindle Fire and the 7″ Kindle Fire HD, Amazon has now launched the high-res 8.9″ version of its Kindle Fire Android table for us lot. The price is larger too, with the larger tablet costing £229 for the standard model, with a 32GB option yours for £259.

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ comes with a 1920 x 1200 resolution display, offering a decent (for a tablet) display PPI rating of 254. It’s powered by a dual-core TI OMAP 4470 processor, with Amazon claiming it’s good for 10 hours of battery life per charge.
