Scroll Excel III – Android 4.1 on a dual-core processor for £110

How we’ve enjoyed seeing the budget Android tablet world offer better and better products over the last couple of years. You can now pick up things like the newly-launched Storage options Scroll Excel III for £110, which offers Android 4.1 on a dual-core A9 chipset running at 1.6GHz, alongside 1GB of RAM. For a budget machine that’s very impressive indeed.

The Scroll Excel III, available direct from the maker, also comes with 8GB of onboard storage, an SD card slot, decent 3,00mAh battery and HDMI output…

…plus dual cameras (2MP and 0.3MP). Those are the weak points, but for this kind of money it’s hard to complain in too loud a voice. Check it out here.

it would be interesting to do a comparison between budget tablets now and budget tablets circa Feb 2011 or whenever you first wrote about them. There has been steady incremental updates in screen res, processing power and battery size but I wonder if how much the user experience has actually changed?
