SwiftKey 4 now live on Android

The amazing little predictive keyboard has been updated today, with SwiftKey 4 exiting beta and arriving on Google Play for all to install. The big addition in this update is the “Flow” system, which adds gesture-based, line-drawing text input to the mix, letting you write entire sentences without lifting off the screen.

It still predicts next words, if you’d rather peck away at it, using data harvested from your Twitter, Facebook, Gmail and RSS feeds to build up a database of your writing style, plus there’s a huge collection of visual and technical toggles inside to fiddle with endlessly until it’s working how you want it to.

And that’s it. The tablet and phone versions of SwiftKey are both updated to version 4, with previous buyers able to upgrade for free. Have a look at it here. You probably already have, though.

I’ve upgraded this about 30mins ago, this really is a very very good app even before the gesture / flow feature. Between this and it learning your phrasing of sentences, how could I fail to be impressed

Yes, it’s awesome. I’ve been using Android’s default keyboard of late, but this is so quick and pretty I might just leave it on this time.

Well I’ve had this app since I owned a Desire HD and it was on offer for 10p (during their 10 billion app deal). The way it learns your phrasing of sentences was the killer feature to me, despite the One X keyboard being an improvement, it’s not as easy for me to use as this
