“Pilot your ship through a unique asteroid-filled universe that’s generated from your very own music files!”

That’s what’s promised when you install Android music game Stereoride. And it works as promised. Once you’ve selected an MP3 from your phone the game scans it and generates an accompanying 3D race track spinning through space, which you race along collecting things in time with music.

We likes games in which you collect things in time with music, as it reminds us of Frequency on PlayStation2. That was literally amazing. This less so, but still quite nice:

Something to do with your eyes and fingers while listening to music, at least. Check Stereoride out on Google Play here.

Reminds me of the warp sections in Stardust on the Amiga

Who are you and what have you done with Gary?

I can be impartial. I liked Lumines as well. And, er, there was the small matter of three years spent working on a PlayStation magazine, which was never widely reported.
