As well as all of its glamorous and exciting models with displays the size of microwave oven doors, Samsung also likes to keep the kids happy with some “affordable” little Android models. This year’s cheapo smartphone clunkers are the Samsung Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame, two phones that’ll arrive running Android 4.1.
Good to see that such a recent version of Android will be powering the bottom-of-the-line cheap models in 2013.
The Galaxy Fame. Single-core 1GHz processor behind a 3.5″ display with a 5MP camera and front-facing chat camera. Not bad for something you’ll probably be able to pick up from your local newsagent for around £79.99 after you’ve left your proper phone on the bus.
The Galaxy Young. The same but with an even smaller 3.2″ display and 3MP camera, plus no front camera. This’ll be handed out for free at all primary schools in Wales.
