As plenty of rumours foretold, Sony has indeed just announced the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. It’s based around the same skinny, sexy design as the recently revealed Xperia Z phone, boosting the size of the BRAVIA display to a 10.1″ unit running at 1920 x 1200 resolution, backed by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm chipset.
It’s a ludicrous 6.9mm thick, runs on 2GB of RAM, includes 32GB of storage in this configuration and SD card expansion, is IP rated for water and dust proofing and even includes NFC capabilites and an 8megapixel camera. Blimey.
It is rather “high end” indeed. The Xperia Tablet Z has only been announced for the Japanese market today, so we’ll have to wait and see if Sony decides to launch this one over here. We hope so. It is nice.
