Sony has just published an app it’s calling TV SideView, with both standard mobile and tablet versions of the app up on the Play Store. The idea is to combine remote control features with media streaming and social interaction, creating a mammoth combo app that covers all modern dual-screen/companion app bases.
There’s a limitation in that it’ll only work properly if you’re using an internet TV and your Android phone on the same home network…
…but if you are that’s what you get. There’s a massive list of compatible TVs and other Sony devices up on the app’s listing. And it doesn’t require a Sony mobile to work, either. Check it out here.

TVM for pointing it out, just need to save up my pennies to buy that gorgeous new Sony phone now….
