Xbox SmartGlass app now on Android

Microsoft has released a new Android app it calls Xbox SmartGlass, which is a clever way to organise and sync your gaming collection and viewing habits between Xbox 360 and your Android phone or tablet, also incorporating support for Xbox 360 Avatars, friends list Achievement comparisons and quite a lot more.

It’s also a kind of remote control for the console, and is capable of acting as a sort of second screen device that accompanies and augments whatever you’re playing on the big screen. Sounds complex. Here it is:

Xbox SmartGlass requires Android 4.0 or higher in order to run, and is free from the Play Store here. It’s had some really positive feedback thus far.

How can this not be compatible with the Nexus 7?
Is this so they can try and flog a couple of more Surface tablets?
