Google’s Eric Schmidt updated us with the latest Android activations numbers last night, with the proud dad informing the world that 1.3 million new Android devices are now turned on for the first time every day. Schmidt also broke this number down and gave us specific tablet figures for the first time, revealing that 70,000 of those daily activations are tablet devices.
We’ve followed this activations data since 2010, when 160,000 seemed like a lot of things to sell. How innocent we once were.
The last time Google updated these numbers was back in June, when it was seeing 1 million new devices switched on every day. Just when you think Android can’t grow any bigger any faster… IT DOES.
