Acer’s latest entry in the tablet world is another smaller 7″ model, with its Iconia A110 offering a relatively cheap way of getting a powerful Android tab to play with. For £179 you get a quad-core Tegra 3 chipset, 1GB of RAM, a 7″ display and HDMI output, with Google’s very latest Android 4.1 pre-loaded as it OS.
There’s 8GB of storage onboard plus – hooray! – an SD card slot for additional expansion, so there’s no awkward compromise between price point and internal storage worries. Here it is:
Ebuyer is claiming it’s the first place in the UK you can buy this particular tablet from, and it’s in stock now, so pop off over there with a usable credit card if, for some reason, you’d rather have an Acer than Google’s rather similar Nexus 7.

Disappointing. Looks like it’s still a Nexus 7 for me.
