The first of Sony’s announcements from this week’s IFA tech show is in, revealing an updated, Xperia-branded Android tablet. The Xperia Tablet S is a quad-core model powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset, offering Android 4.0.3 is its launch OS, a 9.4″ IPS display running at 1280×800 resolution, dual cameras (8MP and 1MP) and a 6,000mAh battery capacity.
It’s slim, too, measuring just 8.8mm at its thinnest point…
…although in keeping with Sony’s previous Tablet S design, there’s a chunkier top end on the updated tablet, giving it a pleasing notepad kind of retro look. The Xperia Tablet S ought to launch this September.
