Archos has revealed another new tablet today, the fun-themed Archos GamePad. It’s a 7″ tablet running Android 4.0, powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. The key DIFFERENTIATOR here is the physical design of the tablet, which comes with your modern array of controls for playing games.
All bases are covered. Twin analogue sticks, a d-pad, buttons and everything, with what Archos calls “mapping and automatic game recognition systems” to ensure the stuff you download off the Play Store works with a minimum of configuration fuss.
Plus the GamePad ought to make a very decent tablet with Ice Cream Sandwich and a 1.5GHz dual-core chipset inside. Archos is aiming for a launch price of around £130, with the GamePad set to arrive this October.
