Google’s latest Platform Versions data has been updated overnight, giving us our regular, very exciting (yes really) look at how the various versions of Google’s OS are represented out there in the real world. The stats are generated by monitoring connections to the Play Store, this time covering the fortnight ending August 1st.
And the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android is the big mover this month, rocketing up from running 11% of Android devices last month to 15.9% this, thanks mainly to, we’d imagine, the vast numbers of Galaxy S III phones Samsung’s been shifting around the world.
However, over 60% of all Android users out there are still working with the 2.3 version of the OS on their mobiles and tablets, which must be a little frustrating for some.
