Google all out of 16GB Nexus 7 tablets, no new stock on the horizon

Google has clearly been finding it a little tough meeting demand for the Nexus 7 tablet, with both the direct Play Store sales channel and other retailers pretty much all out of stock of the 16GB model.

Google’s Play Store listing for the 16GB Nexus 7 model doesn’t even let you order the thing, with the site only letting users register to be told when more stock arrives. Meanwhile, Ebuyer, which led the way with the first batch of sales, is also out of stock, claiming it’ll be August 10th before more 16GB Nexus 7s ship.

So it’s been selling very well. So well, in fact, that it’s now selling very poorly because there aren’t any left to sell. That’s still a very big win all round, we think, for Google and Asus.

Got mine today, it’s superb. Extremely pleased with it. It’s REALLY quick and feels REALLY high-end, despite it’s budget pricing.

Superb piece of kit, got mine Wednesday and I love it. I won’t be pre-ordering anything from the Play store again though, that process was a farce.

  3. Arguably the 8Gb model is much better value at £159 – 40 quid for 8Gb of extra flash storage? – but it’s pretty obvious what consumers want.
