Square Enix launches Final Fantasy III on Android

Square Enix has released a full version of retro classic Final Fantasy III on Google’s Play Store, with this latest conversion based around the 2006 3D Nintendo DS remake rather than the 2D original from the early 1990s. The asking price is pretty brave, with Squenix putting it online for a huge £10.99, which is a rather aggressive way of “monetising” your existing fan base.

And the game has been out on iTunes for over a year for Apple users. But still. Here it is on Android:

Android Final Fantasy III requires Android 2.2 or higher, plus the Play Store shows it as compatible with virtually every phone and tablet we’ve used over the years. Check it out here. There’s no free demo, so it’s a brave leap into the unknown for fans of the series.
