A new and very convincing leak covering the Asus-made Google Android tablet has emerged, claiming it’ll be called the Nexus 7 and will arrive powered by Android 4.1 or Google’s next “Jelly Bean” version of Android. The newest rumour also says it’ll be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 chipset, with the cheaper 8GB model given a US launch price of $199.
That translates to £127, so after taxes and everything else have been added on, we’d expect a UK price of… £159 of thereabouts. A 16GB model is said to be launching at the same time, for $50 more. Here it is:
A 1280×800 IPS display ought to make it look rather better than the other budget Android tablets floating around at the moment. We’ll be having one of them, for sure.

The news story before this one is dated March 23rd. What?! Where’s everything leading upto June 25th?
Is there a gremlin in the works? :D

/ June 26, 2012Wow, finally a tablet I’m even remotely interested in… Looks like the perfect android platform, the smartphone is a truly dull proposition these days, I’m seriously considering an iphone as a companion to this, I expected more from both the HOX & GS3…

/ June 26, 2012Sell this direct via the market like in the USA and it will sell like hotcakes. Why did I buy a 10″ Xoom in March that’s still waiting for ICS!
Dan! Dan! Dan!
/ June 26, 2012I’m sure this will sell like hotcakes. I’d prefer a 10inch variant personally but if I were to take the plunge and get a new tablet then a pure Google experience would always be preferable to myself.
Hence why I’m stuck on my dying HTC Desire waiting for whatever ever comes next with the Nexus line for smartphones.
