Zeebox generated a bit of buzz when it appeared on iOS devices a few months ago, thanks to being the latest production from a high-profile development team – one of whom contributed to the creation of the BBC’s famed iPlayer software.
Now we have Zeebox on Android, thanks to a beta version that’s now available on the Play Store. What you do is… you say what TV you’re watching, then read tweets and news related to it, creating what media people would like to call a “companion app” to go alongside your viewing. Like this:
Zeebox is properly optimised for the UK, with custom listings derived from your selected TV supplier. It’s a bit like looking at Twitter and Wikipedia on a laptop, though, so we’re not totally convinced there’s a need for it.
