Android 4.0 HTC Sensation update now live in parts of Europe

Several sections of Europe are reporting that the Android 4.0 update for the HTC Sensation is now live, with the “Ice Cream Sandwich” notifications hitting Sensation owners’ phones in parts of the mainland. Android 4.0.3 is the new OS version, which will arrive running HTC’s Sense 3.6 interface update.

There’s no official word of the release on any of HTC’s official channels right now, but it would appear to be spreading across the EU this afternoon. Let us know if you’re furiously checking for update notifications and get any joy.

Presumably those with unlocked Sensations bought outside of the networks will be the first in line for the update, as ever in these things.

  1. Seriously need to replace my Acer Liquid.

I want a guaranteed ICS or ICS day 1 phone. Would you recommend this or something else?
Requirements: ICS, Dual Core+ CPU, 1GB ram, 4″+ 200PPI+ screen, MicroSD card slot, decent camera, decent sound, decent battery.

Upgraded from my Liquid Metal to this and it ticks all your boxes apart from the 1GB Memory, it has 768MB. Can’t see what difference this makes. GS2 is a good choice as well but I felt the screen was too rich and not really sharp enough.

I guess rooting my Desire Z is the only way to get this since they aren’t including it. Damn you HTC, you made me do this!
