As well as today’s announcement of the Xperia P, Sony has also reveled a third new Xperia Android model for 2012, in the smaller form factor of the Xperia U. It uses the exact same design stylings at the larger Xperia S and new Xperia P, only this time shrinking it down further to house a 3.5″ Reality Display.
Processing is handled by a 1GHz dual-core chipset, with the Xperia U arriving with Android 2.3 onboard as its OS – and Sony once again promising that an upgrade to Android 4.0 will arrive shortly after launch.
And that’s all of Sony’s big new telephones for 2012. Here’s a little chunk of Sony marketing material on the Xperia U. The official Sony mobile site for the Xperia U is already online here with the Xperia P spec sheet here.
