Tech maker Yarvik has revealed its Yarvik GoTab Exxa Android tablet, which may also be known under the model number TAB465EUK. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz processor from the Cortex A8 family, features an 9.7″ IPS display running at 1024×768 resolution, front and rear cameras and will arrive running Android 4.0 or thereabouts as its OS.
Yarvik says the GoTab Exxa should arrive at the end of Feb or beginning of March, for an RRP of €249. Which works out to around £205 at the moment.
Yarvik says it’s working on gaining approval from Google to allow access to the official Android Market, but it’s more likely it’ll ship with the GetJar App Market we’ve seen on previous Yarvik devices. Here are the tech specs of the thing:

/ February 1, 2012Have you been following the slowly growing geek whispers about the Allwinner A10 chip on which this appears to run? By all accounts it’s going to unleash a flood of *ridiculously* cheap, yet surprisingly high-powered, ICS tablets (and probably set-top boxes) after the Chinese New Year. You can already get a bunch of Gingerbread tablets for 100 quid that, despite the usual no-name Chinese weirdness appear to be great deals (if it wasn’t for the knowledge of this next wave about to arrive)
This manufacturer lists the CPU as a 1.2 Boxchip Cortex-A8 with a 400Mhz GPU which sounds like the Allwinner A10 since a) Allwinner is the same company as Boxchip, b) the Allwinner A10 is generally ated at 1.2GHz (though it seems like it actually usually runs at 1.008GHz, c) the Mali GPU (same on as in Galaxy SII, though with fewer cores) that comes with the A10 runs at 400MHZ, and d) the A10 (like Apple’s A4) is actually a Cortex-A8. So at least that’s not confusing.
As well as tech and price being surprisingly good, it seems like the chip manufacturer has released their full Linux source code which means Cyanogenmod etc. will be all over it. The only fly in the open source ointment is the lack of 3D GPU driver. But the beginnings of one are supposed to be announced in the next couple of days at the FOSDEM conference.
