Apple seeks ban on TEN Samsung phones in Germany

The first big new fight in the PATENT WAR has broken out in 2012 and – surprise, surprise! – it’s our old deadly enemies Samsung and Apple at it once more. According to Bloomberg, Apple has filed for a ban on the sales of 10 Samsung mobiles, including the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy S Plus.

This patent is based around physical hardware design issues rather than software infringements, so it’s all about those central buttons and slimline cases and who copied who this time around.

2012 will be another great year to be a lawyer.

Thats the point though int it, apple arent loosing, there doing the best they have ever done since the creation of the company…. even overtaking MS as the top tech company.

All these smart phones are just 4 inch black slabs of touchscreen glass, they all look the same, and the operating systems are nothing alike, Sammy are a hardware company, Apple are a software company, they don’t even have similar goals… Yes they both make phones & tablets, but sammy make jcb diggers, microwaves, dishwashers etc, as well as ram, flash drives, hard drives, cpu’s, oled & LCD screens etc.

Apple used to/ still do buy a ton of sammy components so to continue all these silly patents over useless patents is just ridiculously illogical, they aren’t going to stop the android juggernaut by patents, they arent going to stop it at all, both ecosystems can exist together, apple should be working with its technological partners instead of suing the crap out of them, as it will bite them in the ass eventually, its not like apple have been making phones for 20 years, all these other tech companies been making phones and entering cross licensing deals all the time, its how they all get along to stop this needless/pointless patent disputes.

      • Not to disagree with you, but you’re entirely wrong.

Apple are a hardware company first and foremost. They just happen to contract out the manufacture, but they make the bulk of their profits on hardware. iTunes was a loss-leader for years, to sell iPods at a ridiculous mark-up.

Apple have about a thousand guys just working on chip design – which is why iOS is so optimized on their lacklustre hardware.

It’s not like Samsung wouldn’t be suing everybody if they thought it would help their bottom line. This is just modern business. It ain’t personal.
