Vodafone has launched a standalone Android app it’s calling Vodafone Guardian, which is a sort of simple phone management tool designed to reassure parents that it’s OK to give their kids a smartphone.
The app lets admin users block calls and messages from certain users, ban use of the camera, limit web and app use and even lock down features on a timed basis, so the phone can shut itself off at bed time. Which is something we could do with.
Will also keep the wife off the Daily Mail app. We’ll have it. Vodafone Guardian is free and on the Android Market here.

/ January 17, 2012Vodafone Guardian’s technology seems to be stolen from a small Norwegian start-up, Bipper Communications (use Google translate):

Shame on Vodafone!
