The latest 2.6 version of Android Skype now lets users ping previously recorded video clips and image files as attachments in messages, but of more interest is a claimed couple of tech enhancements specifically built for those using Tegra 2 powered tablets.
Skype says battery impact from running the app on a Tegra tablet ought to be lower now, plus it’s used the power of Tegra 2 to offer enhanced video quality. Here’s the thing:
“As well as bringing you photo, video and file sending, we’ve also improved battery life and video quality with Skype 2.6 for Android on devices using NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset, which include amongst others; the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Motorola XOOM and Acer Iconia Tablet. Now you can take full advantage of the big screen with better video quality than ever before.”
Plus you get a slightly refreshed interface, automatic sign in and it is apparently now “Easier to sign out”.
Read more about it over on the Skype blog. The app itself is up on the Android Market here.
