A leaked build of Android 4.0 for the Samsung Galaxy S II has been discovered, with Samsung specialist site Sam Mobile receiving a version of the 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich build for Samsung’s other amazing high-spec Android phone.
The version of ICS is dated as December 7th and features Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface over the top. Some features are currently broken, but it gives you a rough idea of what to expect from Samsung’s Android 4.0 update when it eventually arrives for the S II. The site has put a video of the ICS update running on the Galaxy S II on YouTube here…
Bit of a shame to see the TouchWiz interface features over the top of Android 4.0 and therefore obliterating much of Google’s hot new design work, but then again at least that helps differentiate the S II from the Galaxy Nexus – and it’ll still feel familiar to current users.
The Android 4.0 ROM’s half-broken, but if you fancy installing it the files needed are over at Sam Mobile. They say not to. Because it’s half-broken.

/ December 14, 2011I chose the GS2 over the nexus, mainly so i can put CM9 onit and have a stock feel to Android, yet still have the better phone (better camera, better CPU, GPU, SD card slot, better screen – In my opinion the pentile matrix looks horrible at anything under 50% brightness) Give it 2 more weeks when CM9 comes out then i’l be super happy
