We’re seeing numerous reports from users of the HTC Desire HD and Incredible S claiming that both HTC Android phones are currently receiving an update to Android 2.3.5 – which comes with HTC’s Sense 3.0 user interface update as well.
Unless huge chunks of the internet have simultaneously decided to play a big joke on us, we have to believe this is actually happening.
We’ve already seen the newer HTC Desire S get the update back in October. Good to see HTC supporting the Desire HD, a phone which is already considered an “old” model in today’s fast-moving world.

If you got branded phone like from t-mobile, orange, o2, vodaphone,
Then u need to wait longer for upgrade, but they will push the software
as long your network accept that. Mine is unbranded phone, so got it straight way.

/ December 9, 2011@ Stephen , i just tried to take out the battery, sim card and microSD for like 5 minutes and then started the phone without the sim and microSD and so far it didn’t reboot and it’s been altmost 40 minutes…i wasn’t really looking forward to a hard reset :P

eony, after updating, you may need to do a full restart of the phone, potentially removing the battery and the sim card. That normally does the trick!

/ December 19, 2011Unbranded DHD on T-Mobile network – just got the download when I checked for updates. It is a 227MB download!! So I’ll be doing this one over Wi-Fi later on – although it seemed to say it was 16MB in size at first…
I assume that this will probably be the last update – I’m not holding my breath for ICS v4.x coming to a DHD next year.
I’ll just have to get the rumoured quad core HTC Edge phone coming in summer 2012 to get that I imagine (the Sensation XE just is not a big enough of a leap forward for me).

I have a T-Mobile brand on my DHD bought in Germany, but I use it in Poland, with polish t-mobile.

I would try rooting but last time i looked it seemed complicated for the software on my handset, i had to make gold cards and stuff which is beyond my level of confidence.. perhaps we will never get this update..
