According to mobile news site Know Your Mobile, an Amazon representative has said the Kindle Fire tablet will receive a full UK launch next January. That’s the only fact in the site’s news piece today, so we’re still left guessing about specific dates, prices and how much of Amazon’s content and media extras will also launch alongside the tablet.
But if true, it may be worth keeping a percentage of your Christmas money free for possible purchase…
…if you’re the remotest bit excited about owning a locked-down tablet designed to sell you books.

/ December 6, 2011No thanks. A locked down gimped version of Android that Amazon control..
Isn’t the whole reason we use Android is because we don’t like Apple and it’s control over it’s products.. Amazon are trying to do the same thing with the Kindle…

/ December 7, 2011I really want them to launch it here soon. And if it’s £100 like the Metro article predicts then it will be a bargain.
But they need to put the Amazon App Store live in the UK first. At this rate we won’t get the Fire until after they release it’s successor in the US. :(
