This is the PlayBase. It’s a new 7″ Android tablet from Singaporean manufacturer Karuma, which plans to start selling it direct, to you, though its web site, with the first units arriving in “early December” for a price of £169.
It’ll arrive with a 1.2GHz processor alongside 1GB of RAM, lading the maker to claim it’ll be “upgradeable” to both Android 3.0 and 4.0. Which tells us this actually arrives with Android 2.3 and you’d better hope they can be bothered creating any future updates.
PlayBase is following the Andy Pad model, with a web site currently up and teasing a 14-day countdown until pre-orders launch. In fact, it’s all very similar to the Andy Pad launch. Would it be crazy to suggest this is being organised by the same people/person?
