There’s a solution available for the brave Galaxy Nexus owner affected by the volume glitch, with the modders over at MoDaCo making what it calls the “forthcoming official fixed boot image” available for download.
There is a large disclaimer, though – you need to manually flash the phone’s OS yourself, requiring an unlocked bootloader and something to nervously chew upon while doing so. If you know what you’re doing, though, it’s a proper working fix.
The even better news is this is indeed a test version of the official fix, so it’s out there and should appear via a much easier over-the-air update soon enough.
