Phones4U has also started taking orders for the Galaxy Nexus, once again reiterating its plan to launch the phone on November 17th. While other retailers are shuffling the launch date backwards, the latest update from Phones4U, issued yesterday, says “pre order for your chance to have it delivered before 9am on launch day 17th November!“.
Which seems pretty definite. The site’s now taking orders on contracts from Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and O2, with prices starting at £31 per month with a £59 upfront fee.
When Phones4U first announced plans to stock the Galaxy Nexus back in October, it said would be “the first independent retailer in the UK to offer customers the World’s FIRST Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone” – which we assumed to mean it bought a short period of exclusivity on selling it.
Which is no doubt why Amazon and the rest want to make everyone wait until early December.
