Asus has yet more good news for owners its its Eee Pad Transformer Android tablet – all of the company’s Eee Pad Android line will be getting an update to Google’s latest “Ice Cream Sandwich” version of the OS. There’s no timeline in place yet, but it’s in progress.

Eee Transformer owners are the luckiest people in the tech world. Here’s the update from Asus:

Are you waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich? Good news for ASUS customers. And apparently the Eee Pad Slider is in danger of actually launching in the UK this week, although we’re yet to see any retailers showing it as in stock and ready to go.

Carefully worded statement that says nothing..

    Note the: “our aim”….

Meaning nothing concrete. They need a WE WILL.

I hear the Xoom will have 3.2 by the end of November.

And that really is shite, as the Transformer has had 3.2.1 for 6 weeks or more.

Don’t get me wrong, I really love my Transformer, it’s a fantastic purchase, and I think the liklihood of it getting ICS is very high, but Asus words are carefully picked.

Clearly the Transformer is CAPABLE of running ICS, but Will Asus do it, when the Transformer2 is just around the corner, rocking ICS as standard?

Anyone know if Asus signed up to the 18 month support cycle that Google proposed for Android updates? I know all the others did.
