Adobe’s Flash Player 11 now available on Android

An entirely new release of Adobe’s Flash Player plug-in has launched on Android today, with the company’s Flash Player 11 now available on the Android Market.

You get a whole load of new technical features. Which are way too technical for us to go into, so read the changelog on Adobe’s site if you’d like the full word on what’s different under the bonnet of this new code.

You still require Android 2.2 or higher to make it work. Flash Player 11 is on the Android Market here.

That is somewhat large for an app. God help any Desire owners who haven’t rooted and sorted out their internal space.

As I’m always running low on space on my Desire, it’s impossible to install the flash player, as the installation process crashes everytime, due to lack of space (end size is 17.6 MB, but it actually requires a bit more during the install process). So even though I ticked the “automatic update” to “OFF”, everytime I connect to the web it tries to download and install the flash player. So it’s constantly trying to download, and my plan does NOT include unlimited downloads. So thank you Adobe (and Google) for forcing me to keep the internet connection down all day. Hmm… are the Samsungs or LG’s having any Xmas promotions yet???
