HTC Sensation 2.3.4 update now available for Vodafone users

If you went down the subsidised contract route and bought your HTC Sensation through the Vodafone network, today is a day you’re unlikely to ever forget – the network has now launched that Android 2.3.4 update for owners of Branded Vodafone Sensations.

Here’s Vodafone’s standard announcement of what’s new and different and hopefully better, which is more than we got out of HTC:

HTC Sensation Software update available now

A new maintenance release for the HTC Sensation is now available to Vodafone customers. This update is an Android platform update to 2.3.4 Gingerbread and introduces a number of fixes and improvements, including:

One thing i did notice in the 2.3.4 version (unbranded) was that it’s possible to take a screenshot of your phone these days without rooting or S-OFF.

Just hold down the power button for 1-2 seconds and press home and it takes a picture of your current display. Pretty sure this wasn’t the case in 2.3.3 as everyone on xda says your phone has to be rooted and S-OFF.

    So. hooray! :o)

That’s such a nice feature. The S II lets you do that, too, without needing root or anything.

I’ve got an unbranded HTC sensation in the UK, that is saying that no update is available :(

anyone else in the UK got an update to 2.3.4?

    • Ye I literally just got mine now.

Does anyone have any idea on the percentage improvements…for example 5% battery life improvement?

Was this for Unbranded Sensation or Vodafone? I still haven’t got any update for my unbranded Sensation. Looks like Vodafone is still having the exclusivity in UK which they had at the launch.
