So yesterday we had two possible candidate days from the US and Germany for the launch of Android 3.2 on the UK Eee Pad Transformer, now today Asus UK has given us a firm date for the specific UK launch of the latest Honeycomb upgrade – August 2nd.
This date comes via the company’s ever helpful Facebook page. We’ve taken a screencapture of the happy news. Thanks for asking, Tim:

Sooner or later we’re going to have to surrender to the massive weight of public opinion and just buy one of these tablet things. It’s where all the action is.

/ July 28, 2011There are some very nice improvements in 3.2 on the Transformer.
UI is alot faster apparently (not that is was slow before).
Trackpad now supports multitouch, (you can zoom on the pad like you can on the tablet).
Honeycomb 3.2 supports App Zooming, so smartphone-centric apps can be “zoomed” to suit the 10.1in tablet screen.
+much more.

This sounds like a very neat idea, I certainly look forward to it, as I have a lot of games on my HTC Desire HD that I’ve also tried to play on my Transformer, and it just doesn’t work with the 4.2″ app screen squished onto the 10.1″ screen!

/ July 28, 2011HTC could learn a thing or two about giving fixed update dates…..

/ July 28, 2011I actually like a bit of vagueness in update dates as long as over time the dates get more specific. Asus didn’t give any date until the day before. Still better than Moto. Everyone is better than Moto.

/ July 28, 2011It hasn’t turned up yet Stephen…

/ July 30, 2011Got the 3.2 on the Transformer yesterday – the first thing that jumped out was the new cursor (not sure if I like it or not).
The new zoom is interesting – Mobo player (which worked fine before) suddenly has chubby, crude buttons (having been zoomed) luckily the video itself has not been affected. When clicking the zoom button you get two options – stretch or zoom – Zoom makes everything chubby (as you’d expect) for me Stretch seems to be the answer.
Other than that, as most things are under the hood, I’ll review MarkG’s list and see if I can report on anything else that jumps out.
