The UK arm of CNET has run some news on an Android phone it calls the Samsung Galaxy R, which looks to be the exact same hardware as the previously reported Galaxy Z that’s set to launch in the rest of Europe.
The site says the Galaxy R will launch in the UK in July, which is… now. The phone features a dual-core processor, which we believe to be the Tegra 2 model, a 4.2″ S-LCD screen and 5megapixel camera. It’s basically a Galaxy S II Mini.
If the Galaxy R is a chunkier Galaxy S II we might like it very much indeed, as we found the SII to be too skinny for comfort. Although it’s safe to say we were out on a very flimsy limb with that opinion.
