HTC has finally put something on the record regarding the Android 2.3 update for its HTC Desire Z , stating that the upgrade for the popular QWERTY phone is nearing the end of the testing process and will be with you all in “the coming weeks”.
Here’s the chunk of relevant text from HTC:
Thanks to everyone whos been patiently waiting for the Gingerbread update for Desire Z. We are in the last stages of testing and plan to start rolling out the update over the air in the coming weeks. It may take a little time to reach all of you across every network but it should have reached everyone by the end of the month.
That’s excellent news, as the poor old Desire Z users out there were starting to think they’d been forgotten about.

/ July 12, 2011Yay! My not as lovely as it was Desire Z deserves it. But since I dropped it on to concrete the other day, I scratched it well-up – the aluminium is now scratched alu though it still works fine and screen perfect. Great phone, massively overlooked.

/ July 15, 2011Just saw a tweet to say that the rollout to Desire Z has started in Germany. Hopefully it will improve battery life a bit as that’s my major gripe with an other excellent device.
