Historypin is a sort of “augmented reality” map mash-up tool created in association with Google, which sources historical photos and places them over the current landscape. Users can submit their own snaps from the family album, or simply browse the online collection of relics curated from other sources.
And it’s all presented in a very nice interface, like this:
It’s geo-aware, if you want it to be, for streaming in data based on where you are, or you can simply browse old snaps from around the world. Send Historypin to your Android phone via the Android Market.
