T-Mobile UK has launched that “unlimited” mobile data plan it announced earlier this week, with a selection of smartphones now showing on its pay monthly deals page with the new “truly unlimited internet” package bundled in.
Leading the CHARGE are a couple of Android phones, with the super-hot Galaxy S II and HTC Desire S being used by the company to tempt new users to sign up to its enhanced data plan tariffs. Like this:
The Desire S also comes with 300 talk minutes, the S II with 900. If you are a serious mobile data user, they’re decent enough plans. Although, as with all these “unlimited” offers, there’s bound to be some catch somewhere along the line, whether it’s “traffic-shaping” or speed limitations of some sort once you encounter the secret limit.

/ July 1, 2011It does not take long to find the hidden catches. this deal is no where near as good as three’s. 500mb streaming and download hard limit with blocks in place if you go over this. no limits on email and browsing only.
ill stick with 3 uk one plan me thinks

/ July 4, 2011That sounds like the limitations on T-mobiles existing “unlimited” deal. It would be very cheeky indeed if they were passing off the same thing as “truly unlimited” and charging an extra fiver. (Though I note the coincidence that currently it does cost an extra fiver per month to add “unlimited” internet to your contract).

/ July 2, 2011I signed up to a Tmobile unlimited data offer 18 months ago (just expired) but 6 months ago they attempted to move everyone on it to a 500mb limit, after many complaints they announced it would only be only for new customers.
Suprise suprise theyve reannounced a new unlimited deal.
a very suspcious ex-tmobile customer
