The recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S II in Germany has been something of a major success for the tech manufacturer, which claims the new Android phone’s arrival has powered it to a 43.5% share of the entire smartphone market in Germany.
Here’s an unrelated photograph we’ve been saving for this sort of occasion:
And here’s the amazingly ill-advised war-referencing market share announcement from Samsung’s Korean office. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this disappearing off the internet within the hour:
Galaxy S 2 Starts ‘Blitzkrieg’ in Germany
Galaxy S2 which has been breaking almost every mobile sales record on the home soils has started its ‘blitzkrieg’ in Germany. According to market researchers, Galaxy S2 was ranked number one in the smartphone selling record, only two weeks after its release in Germany. Then, it has been now crowned as the most sold phone in the entire mobile market. At the moment, it seems there is no ‘Maginot Line’ in Germany to stop its ‘blitzkrieg’ into German mobile consumers’ hearts.
Owing to the massive success of Galaxy S2 in Germany, Samsung Electronics recorded a market share of 43,5% of the smartphone market, the highest market share ever the company has achieved since it started the mobile business in this mechanic-crowded country.
The local media is responding to the success of Galaxy S2 with excellent reviews. Connect, a German IT Media, ranked it as the best smartphone with the highefst review points of 433 in total, calling it ‘Masterpiece’. Other reviewers like Amazon.de, ZDNet,de, Netzwelt, Cnet also hailed Galaxy S2 with great reviews.

/ June 13, 2011Are we sure this press release wasn’t written by a Brit with the occasional bit of Engrish chucked in to throw us off the scent? The only thing it was missing was a sly dig at “efficient” sales patter or calling it the “stolen sun-lounger” of the mobile world!

/ June 14, 2011Germans line up to say Hiel Samsung! as the Galaxy S 2 moves into its undisputed position as Fuhrer in the cell phone world.
I could go on a about the holocaust, but it might not be that funny – look the Maginot line was a defense against the Germans – not for the Germans.
The whole thing doesn’t make sense…ill conceived is right.
I wonder how the Germans are taking it?
