Some interesting research published by Neilsen today gives us a bit of insight as to how people use their fancy modern smartphones. Apps are the #1 source of fun, absorbing 56% of our total smartphone activity time. Next up is email and messaging, on 19%, with using our phones as actual phones in third place, taking up 15% of our phone time.

/ June 22, 2011I’d love to see their UK data, as I’m involved with their UK research. Basically its a spy application running on your phone. From my own usage I would say that data is not far off the mark.

/ June 22, 2011At first I thought, no way. . . I use the phone much more. Then I realized, no I’m actually not. I’m using IM, gTalk, email, etc. . . I hardly talk on the actual phone and then it’s going through gVoice.
