HTC Desire HD / Incredible S Android 2.3 update arriving NOW

We’ve just had an email from a VERY EXCITED reader, letting us know that an update to Android 2.3.3 is in the process of downloading to his HTC Desire HD. A cursory glance through Twitter reveals quite a few other people are also updating their HDs to the latest version of Android – and that the HTC Incredible S is also seeing an update.

There might be something happening. Read the official announcement on HTC’s European support hub. The HD will be updated to version 2.36.405.5 of the OS, while the Incredible S will be on 2.12.405.7 when done.

Presumably this will be hitting the unlocked phones first, as is usually the case with HTC updates. Thanks to Stephen for the tip.

Hi, for those who managed to upgrade to the updated 2.3 OS, can i check whether you are able to make 3G video calls via cellular network. Was told by HTC that this will be possible with the OS upgrade. Can anyone confirm this. Thanks in advance.

Hi Paul, can you tell me if you are able to make video calls over the cellular network after the Andriod 2.3 update? Am told by HTC support staff that this function should be available after the update but they can’t be 100% sure. Am postponing my purchase of the Incredible S due to this.

Hi Win, still no option available as far as I can tell. Bit of a joke really considering it’s a high end device. It’s something HTC need to sort out. I heard rumours that it won’t be available until Android 2.3.4 comes out?
