Optimus Pad still priced to fail, but a bit less – now £749 unlocked

A few weeks ago we PHYSICALLY RECOILED IN HORROR when Carphone Warehouse attached a speculative £799 price to the 3D LG Optimus Pad tablet. Well, the site has now altered the listing, reducing the price to… £749 for a SIM-free model.

Still not a particularly engaging retail prospect. However, the site is also offering the tablet on subsidised data tariff plans, which start at £25 per month for a Talkmobile deal including 5GB of data. But there’s a £299 upfront fee on that, too.

Best not bother. Maybe in a year it’ll cost something sensible when
LG needs to clear out its warehouses. Link via Recombu.

    since the asus transformer – a better device, with a better ips screen, is available 379 without the keyboard dock, 429 with it. What sane sounded person would pick the not as good but twice the price LG model? madness!!
