Google has announced a subtle rejig of the web-based Android Market site today, bringing in new ranking and discovery features designed to make the terrifying process of trying new things a little easier.
You now see a “Trending Apps” list of apps that are rapidly gaining user numbers, a standalone Google-curated “Editors Choice” selection highlighting nice things, plus new charts showing apps sorted by their popularity in individual regions.
Google says these changes to the web site will soon arrive in some form on the Android app. That’s a screenshot of the web site running on a phone browser, in case it’s confusing the matter. Read more over at the Google Mobile Blog.
