We’ve just had an email from a VERY EXCITED reader, letting us know that an update to Android 2.3.3 is in the process of downloading to his HTC Desire HD. A cursory glance through Twitter reveals quite a few other people are also updating their HDs to the latest version of Android – and that the HTC Incredible S is also seeing an update.

There might be something happening. Read the official announcement on HTC’s European support hub. The HD will be updated to version 2.36.405.5 of the OS, while the Incredible S will be on 2.12.405.7 when done.
Presumably this will be hitting the unlocked phones first, as is usually the case with HTC updates. Thanks to Stephen for the tip.

Am told by HTC support staff that this function should be available after the update but they can’t be 100% sure. Am postponing my purchase of the Incredible S due to this.
