Retailer Carphone Warehouse, which is exclusively stocking the 3G version of Motorola’s XOOM Android 3.0 tablet, has put together a monthly contract package for those not WILLING or even ABLE to pay the tablet’s £579 unsubsidised price.
In return for a £199 upfront fee, Carphone Warehouse will sign you up to a 24-month £25 mobile data tariff which uses the same Talkmobile unlimited data deal previously mentioned.
Not bad if you have sufficient capital overhead to allow for yet another £25 direct debit disappearing from your current account every month. Do the maths here.

/ April 12, 2011That’s £799 in total…

/ April 12, 2011Offsetting the price of the tablet, that works out at just over £9/mo for unlimited internet, so the £800 total doesn’t sound too bad to me. Especially since paying this way spreads the largest part of it out over two years.
But am I bothered enough about the Xoom? Nah.
